Affordable Housing in the heart of the Lake District

The lack of affordable housing for local young people in the Lake District is a real political hot potato. Cook and Lakin created a 2-bedroom apartment complete with garage and off-street parking on the site of an old factory in the heart of Ambleside.

The manager of a nearby hotel and her family are now hapily resident, but would have looked for work away from the area if they had not been able to find affordable housing.
